Business executives and fashion-conscious PC users were clearly in mind when Iomega designed its eGo Leather portable hard drive. As its name suggests, the 250GB USB 2 portable storage device is clad in leather.
Apart from the fashion aspect, the new drive offers users a fast and highly portable way to store and transporting files.
The USB-powered 2.5-inch drive comes with a license for EMC Retrospect HD software for automatic backups, scheduled backups, or on-demand backups. The makers say its 250GB of storage space has the capacity to hold up to 1 million photos, over 4,625 hours of music or 375 hours of video.
Belying any softness implied by its attire, the eGo Leather is rugged enough to withstand small shocks. Iomega’s DropGuard technology protects the drive from damage caused by drops of up to 51″.
The Iomega eGo is compatible with Mac OS X 10.1 or higher and with Microsoft Windows 2000 Pro, Windows XP, and Windows Vista. EMC Retrospect HD backup software is available for download for PC only.
