Numerate mouse: Combination adds up to a handy device

Canon has added to its X series of calculators. As its name implies, the X Mark I Mouse doubles as a pointing device. The two-in-one gadget is particularly handy for laptop users lacking a dedicated numeric keypad.

The maker says the device’s lower case has been made using recycled plastics previously used in Canon photocopiers.

The battery-powered device works with Windows and Mac, has integrated Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, three click buttons and a scroll-wheel.

It can be locked to avoid accidentally pressing calculator keys while mousing. Calculations are shown in a high-resolution ten-digit display panel.

The X Mark I Mouse arrives in November priced at €48.99 RRP inc. VAT.
