Visual display products specialist ViewSonic has unveiled two projectors which, according to the maker, offer enhanced connectivity and multimedia capabilities.

The PJD5351 is described as a powerful short-throw DLP projector providing 2500 ANSI lumens of light, a 2400:1 contrast ratio and 1024 x 768 XGA resolution.

It weighs 2.5kg and has an extremely short-throw ratio of 0.9:1, enabling it to produce 50″ images from a distance of just three feet (0.9m), greatly reducing common complaints of shadowing and brightnes, says the maker.

Digital zoom and manual focus capabilities make it easy to place on a table-top, mount on the ceiling or pair with a short-throw projector arm in a classroom or meeting room. The device also provides dual RGB, composite and S-Video inputs for transferring media through multiple devices.

An additional RGB output allows it to connect to an external monitor or to daisy-chain with another projector.

ViewSonic says lamp life is up to 4,000 hours and one of the lowest total cost of ownership ratios in the industry.
