Global child rights organisation Plan International has signed a contract with Dublin-based Salmon Software for the installation of its treasury management system (TMS) software, Salmon Treasurer. Plan selected The Salmon Treasurer following an international tender designed to automate its global treasury management facilities.

Salmon Treasurer is aimed at corporate treasurers to manage debt, foreign exchange, money market, treasury, banking transactions and related corporate activities.

“As part of this work we have to manage many different currencies. We needed to streamline treasury management and reporting,” said Annemarie Moore, group treasurer, Plan International Inc.

Plan had been using spreadsheets to manage its cash, foreign exchange and branch funding.

“We asked for expressions of interest from 19 companies. Following detailed questionnaires and demonstrations from five shortlisted companies we selected Salmon Software. Our selection team was made up of treasury, accounting and IT. We had unanimous agreement on Salmon because of its cost, functionality, flexibility and ease of use,” added Annemarie.

John Byrne, CEO, Salmon Software, added: “Plan International raised almost €700 million across multiple currencies last year and does fantastic work on behalf of child poverty. It was a privilege to be able to help them streamline their reporting, foreign exchange, money market and cash management.”
