Dublin-based recruitment company, The People Group, has become the first in Ireland to launch a user-friendly website (www.thepeoplegroup.mobi) to allow candidates apply for a job using their smartphone.
The company, one of country’s longest established sales and marketing recruitment agencies, has partnered with Web development company Evolution-e Internet to launch a dedicated mobile optimised website to cater for the massive upsurge in mobile Web browsing.
People Group MD, Colm Buckley, said: “Candidates wanted to engage with the company online via their mobile phones. We commissioned Evolution-e, to build a system that would ensure mobile visitors to our website had a quicker and better experience in searching and applying for jobs online.”
Stephen Quinn, MD of Evolution-e Internet, said: “Mobile phone website development is a new service we are launching in Ireland and the UK, and this was a great opportunity to be part of such a new innovative technology development.”
