Two Irish companies have been named as part of the first class of seven European start-ups selected for the inaugural MasterCard Start Path accelerator.

MoQom-Mobile and Xpresso start-ups were selected after an extensive selection process that saw applications received from companies in more than 30 countries. Each of the start-ups will work with MasterCard for a 12-month period, with the first four on-site in Dublin, and the next eight in a virtual capacity.

The successful companies are: Instabank (Russia), MePin (Germany), MoQom-Mobile (Ireland), Ridango (Estonia), Storee (Israel), Xpresso (Ireland), and ZenCard (Poland).

“The opportunity to work closely with each of our Start Path start-ups that are experimenting with the next generation of commerce solutions is really exciting,” said Stephane Wyper, MasterCard Start Path global lead. “We’re looking forward to rolling up our sleeves with the companies to tackle immediate challenges as they scale their business by connecting them directly with subject matter experts from across MasterCard and the MasterCard Incorporated – Page 2 global partners we work with.”
