Datascan invests €200k in scanning bureau

Dublin company upgrades service capacity

Datascan has invested €200,000 to establish a dedicated scanning bureau. The bureau is focused on saving businesses money by scanning, digitally indexing and returning their documents in a format that best suits their requirements.

Speaking about the investment Padraic Cafferty, Datascan managing director, said: “Ireland is about 20 years behind the UK in terms of document digitisation. Businesses all over the country are investing in CRM and business intelligence systems, however, these systems are only as good as the information inputted to them. Using File Stream Document Management Software, we can save our customers a significant amount of administrative time and make them more efficient. Customers can retrieve key documents in seconds, as well as extract vital data and validate the outputs without ever having to see a hard copy document; very powerful in business today.”

Founded in 1993, Datascan’s public and private sector customers span a variety of sectors, including medical, legal, media, accounting, retail and not for profit, and can range in size from SMEs to blue chip companies. Its clients include Independent News & Media, The Mater Private, The Irish Times, RTE, DCU and The Jack & Jill Foundation. Every week, Datascan manages up to 250,000 files on and recycles over 100 tonnes of paper.
