The Beamer 80 from Vialta is a phone video station. It promises to add video to your phone calls over a dial-up connection and with no need for a broadband connection to carry the video.
The device promises full colour motion video and works, the manufacturer says, with any home phone. Image capture and privacy options are also included.
To use the Beamer which features a 3.5” colour screen, a built-in camera and tilting for different viewing angles, the recipient must also have a Beamer unit. We will have a full review of the Beamer in our February issue. The Beamer 80 retails for €299.
