In addition to video, it can also play music and display slideshows of photos, which can be copied directly from compatible digital cameras. A 40 GB hard disk offers plenty of storage space, while a 100 GB version is also available.
The AV700 is dominated by the screen, with control buttons on either side. Video quality is very good and the internal speaker is reasonable. The AV700 claims four hours of video playback and 30 hours of music on a charged battery.
The cradle can record video and has an attachment to send infrared commands directly to a video player or TV decoder box. The device can also edit recorded video.
The AV700 is an impressive media player and the recording function removes the need for a TV tuner to watch video on the move.
A very good portable media player that is not overly reliant on access to a computer.
