Ryanair attracted publicity for its new iOS app in typical fashion by announcing it would charge a not inconsiderable (by app standards) €3.

The app allows passengers to access information on air fares, make and review bookings, check timetables and add optional services such as priority boarding and checked-in bags.

An Android version is due for release.

Sage
For: Facebook

Sage Ireland’s Facebook app allows users to talk to each other by sharing recorded audio clips of user-generated business advice, with prizes for the best tidbits.

Each voice message will be listened to by the Sage Business Advice Team, and the winner of the best message will receive a copy of Sage 50 Accounts and a €250.00 voucher for Ticketmaster.

Genius Scan
For: iOS, Android

One of the most useful apps you will ever come across. Genius Scan uses your phone’s camera to take pictures of documents, which it then enhances and saves as a PDF. You can e-mail documents direct from the app, print or save to Dropbox, Google Drive or Evernote. A free version is available which lacks cloud storage options.
