Iomega has made further enhancements to its network attached storage product line with a Windows-powered P415m model with Gigabit Ethernet interface.

The NAS P415m — with Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) interface — offers large capacity and data redundancy and is available in a desktop form factor or as a 19in rack-mountable (1U height) unit.

The system specification is 720Gbyte of storage, divided into four hot-swappable 180Gbyte Ultra Fast ATA-100 drives. It runs a Pentium III 1GHz processor. The device has 512Mbyte RAM, RAID levels: 0, 1, 5 and non-RAID, as well as an integrated RAID cache subsystem.

Other features include a dual auto-sensing Fast Ethernet port (10/100 Base-TX) with fail-over and load balancing, along with RJ-45 connectors.

The unit is bundled with Windows 2000 SAK (Server Appliance Kit), a Web-based GUI for system administration and remote management. It is compatible with a number of operating system client types, including Windows 95/98/2000/NT 4.0/Me/XP, Novell NetWare, MacOS 7.5.5, 7.6, 8.x, 9.x and OS X, Red Hat Linux 6.2 and 7.0, as well as FreeBSD.
