Wayra Ireland announces shortlist of start-ups for second intake

Wayra Ireland has released its shortlist of projects for the second intake of start-ups to its accelerator programme.

The projects will take part in an event on 11-12 September, during which up to 10 will be chosen to enter the Wayra academy. The successful startups will then take up residence in Wayra and benefit from a nine-month acceleration programme including financing of up to €40,000; access to expert mentors; dedicated workspace in Wayra; and favourable commercial terms with leading technology suppliers including Amazon, Google, Paypal and Microsoft.

Wayra director Karl Aherne said: "Over the last nine months, Wayra has provided the space and tools for 11 startups to drive rapid growth and become highly investable with real market traction. The level of innovation and entrepreneurship in Ireland is tremendous, equal to anywhere in the world, and this is reflected in the high quality of applications we received for the second intake."

The projects that will be taking part in the Wayra selection event in September are: Appticles; PropelAd; Buzzoo; Ripple Platform; CityHook; Scream Technologies; Curlybrow; Scurri; Frock Advisor; Stockstreams; Gigstarter; Style Finch; Gotcha Ninjas; Tempster; KonnectAgain; Tippl; Nivpat; and Vbot.
