The launch of a Trump-branded crypto wallet has caused confusion with the Trump family denying any involvement despite evidence of a link to a body affiliated to the Trump organisation.

On 3 June the team behind the Trump memcoin and Magic Eden NFT platform announced the release of what it called the Official $TRUMP Wallet. Soon after, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Barron Trump publicly distanced themselves from the project, stating that the Trump organisation was not involved and had not approved the use of their names.

The wallet’s website claimed it was a collaboration between Magic Eden and GetTrumpMemes.com, a platform owned by Fight Fight Fight LLC. That entity co-owns CIC Digital LLC, a company affiliated with the Trump organisation that owns a significant portion of Trump token stock. Despite these connections, the family members have denied any ties to the wallet.

This situation highlights the complexity and lack of transparency within crypto initiatives bearing Trump’s name. Previous projects, such as the Trump memecoin, have already led to allegations of conflicts of interest and ethical concerns.

Recent events raise questions about control and communication within the various crypto companies linked to the Trump family. It is unclear who is actually responsible for launching the wallet and to what extent the family is aware of such projects.
