Pure Telecom has unveiled a broadband-only service, Purely Broadband, offering up to 100Mb/s fibre connectivity without the need for a landline.

The launch comes after a two-month commercial trial which saw 400 customers sign up.

Pure expects to secure 10,000 new customers in the first 12 months, and up to 1.1 million homes and businesses will be able to receive the service.

“Broadband has come a very long way in the last few years,” said Paul Connell, head of operations, Pure Telecom. “The world has changed, and many people are seeking high-speed broadband and don’t have a telephone landline. The majority of the people we are targeting in this segment never had landline because they have cable TV. We believe that this is one of the best customer-driven innovations yet and we expect that it will significantly disrupt the market.

“Our services aren’t constrained by a single network, which means that our customers get the best service and value mix possible. We can access all leading networks, including eircom, BT, Verizon and Magnet. We cover more of Ireland than any other provider and our customers know they will get the best customer service and the best fit solution.”
