Ireland is to get its first professional e-sports event next month. Organised by website and online community n00b gaming, n00b c0n will be taking place on 16-17 November at the Rochestown Hotel in Cork.
The event will include gaming exhibits and a live tournament: Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm, which will be hosted by US gaming commentators Alex ‘Axeltoss’ Rodriguez and Nick ‘Axslav’ Ranish.
Other games hosted at the event include League of Legends, Halo 4 and Fifa 2013.
"Ireland has a real gaming heritage but traditionally Irish gamers have looked abroad for their e-sports needs… We feel that Ireland has something special to offer to the gaming community, and this first installment of n00b c0n is the ideal showcase," said Paul Allen, CEO, n00b gaming.
N00b gaming is Ireland’s highest ranking gaming website, according to Alexa.com.
The event is supported by Microsoft and Ozone Gaming.
