Based on Microsoft’s Pocket PC operating system and supporting the latest GPRS technology for wireless Internet access speeds of up to 40Kbit/s, the Siemens SX 45 MultiMobile combined mobile phone and handheld PC packs a punch.

Designed for mobile business users, the MultiMobile’s Compact Flash and MultiMediaCard slots allow the device to download software applications directly from a server and these programs can be stored on the device’s 32Mbyte of on-board memory.

The user can keep in contact with the office by voice, fax or e-mail. The device is touchscreen and sports a back-lit TFT colour screen, capable of displaying over 65,000 colours. The GPRS capability of the MultiMobile means faster, practical mobile access to the Internet, either through the device’s WAP Browser or via the http Web browser Pocket Internet Explorer supplied with the Pocket PC OS.

In addition to accessing WAP and Internet Websites, the MultiMobile can be configured to provide remote access to corporate LANs or Intranets via the http browser with robust security ensured.

The Pocket PC operating system on the MultiMobile comes with software such as Pocket Word, Pocket Excel, Outlook, Media Player (MP3), Calculator and Inbox as standard.

By using the MultiMobile‘s Active Sync Station, users can sychronise the device with MS Outlook or Lotus Organizer to exchange vital business information.
