Viatel is to provide Internet connectivity to Meade Potato Company’s head office in Co. Meath.

Meade Potato Company have invested substantially in their 650,000 sq. ft state-of-the-art production facility located in Lobinstown. The rural location has been ideal for the production of quality fresh fruit and vegetables, however, sourcing reliable enterprise quality Internet services has been a challenge.

After a number of unsuccessful attempts to source suitable corporate Internet services Meade Potato Company contacted Viatel who custom-designed, built and delivered a 100Mb/s fully licensed radio service with full quality of service along with mission critical 24/7 service level agreement to support Meade Potato Company’s around the clock operations.

This deployment has enabled the implementation of a number of ICT projects which has improved communication between Meade Potato Company and its customers and suppliers across Europe and supported the roll out of previously stalled VoIP telephony and cloud ventures.

“Connectivity can make or break a company – as more business is being done online we knew we needed to improve our communication to keep up with demand. We wanted to better our communications significantly, and following our partnership with Viatel, we can relax knowing we’re able to reach our customers and process orders and deliveries in milliseconds via a solution we can rely upon,” said Patrick Meade, commercial director, Meade Potato Company.

“Viatel are delighted to welcome Meade Potato Company to our rapidly expanding enterprise client base,” commented Damien McCann, enterprise sales manager at Viatel. “This solution demonstrates Viatel’s ability to deliver enterprise class communication solutions irrespective of geographic location.”
