Loreto Secondary School, Kilkenny has been chosen as the first in Europe to pilot of Samsung’s Smart School Solution. The fully integrated 1:1 learning platform twill see Galaxy Note 10.1 tablets with S Pens replace traditional work and text books and pens and a 65" interactive e-board with AllShare Cast Dongle will take the place of the blackboard.

The Samsung Smart School Solution delivers three integrated systems for the creation of engaging virtual learning environments: an interactive management solution allowing teachers to monitor and display content from pupils’ tablets; a learning management system for delivering content such as texts and workbooks to students at any time; and a student information system to help teacher track attendance, general information and academic history.

“Finding new and relevant ways to engage students is very important to the learning environment,” said Colm Keher, Principal, Loreto Secondary School, Kilkenny.  “We must go beyond the blackboard and adopt new technologies into our teaching environments, and give our students easy access to technologies. We’re delighted to have partnered with Samsung to tap into the potential of its Smart School Solution which will give our students the opportunity to be involved in a fully interactive learning environment.
