The Irish Computer Society (ICS) has teamed up with leading elearning provider MindLeaders to add over 3,000 IT professional and business skills e-learning courses to its portfolio. The agreement includes certification courses in network and application technologies along with online training for Web development, marketing, communication and business leadership.
"This partnership means we now cover every end of the spectrum, from basic digital literacy to certifications from Microsoft or Cisco," said Tom O’Sullivan, deputy CEO at ICS Skills. "So far 10% of the Irish population – some 500,000 people – have undertaken our European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) programme. This partnership means that as a training body we can round out our portfolio in terms of professional development and reach out to new sectors."
So far the ICS has operated a business model largely based on providing ECDL training to the education and consumer markets. To pursue a 2012 strategy aimed at selling into corporate and SME sectors, the organisation needed to broaden its offering.
Future plans may well expand the partnership to include MindLeaders tools such as Practice-Labs and Instant Mentoring.
"We are delighted that ICS have come on board" commented Susan Moore, Head of EMEA at MindLeaders. "It’s absolutely key to our business to work with partners like ICS and enable them to reach new markets and new learners with our content."
