I.T. Alliance banking on the cloud

I.T. Alliance, is to invest €750,000 in developing a new cloud computing division with support from Enterprise Ireland’s R&D fund. The Irish owned outsourcing firm has already hired seven people to develop the new operation which will provide virtual support services to global companies. The move marks IT Alliance’s first engagement with the cloud.

Philip Maguire, CEO of I.T. Alliance maintains that, “companies are adopting the cloud in unprecedented numbers but they need dedicated support. Our new service will provide a virtual support service.”

I.T. Alliance who boast a 15% increase in revenue last year, is part of Enterprise Ireland’s scaling programme, which is designed to support Irish firms’ growth. The company is also participating in Enterprise Ireland’s Leadership for Growth programme, run in conjunction with Stanford University.

Enterprise Ireland’s divisional manager of scaling commented that, “Ireland has the potential to be a global centre of excellence in cloud computing. I.T. Alliance’s track record and long experience in outsourcing services makes it an ideal candidate to build a global virtual support business.”
