Under the new partnership, the training firm recently delivered an external Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) training programme for third year computing science degree students at the college, giving them the opportunity to obtain an industry recognised professional qualification within their course.
Janice O’Connell, course director, Faculty of Computing Science at Griffith College says that the inclusion of the course within the degree programme will help students get work in the IT sector. ‘A wider range of employment opportunities will now become open to the students with some already receiving employment offers as a direct result of the programme.’
