SonicWall‘s SOHO TZW combines secure wireless and virtual private networking (VPN) technologies into an ICSA-certified firewall appliance. The SOHO TZW bridges the IT administrator’s need for network security and end-user demands for convenient, wireless connectivity.
The appliance allows administrators to enforce powerful IPSec authentication and encryption between the LAN and the wireless LAN (WLAN), creating a Trusted Zone for Wireless (TZW). The appliance includes the SonicWALL Global VPN client that establishes a wireless connection from the mobile user to the appliance and automatically downloads security policy settings to enforce wireless security.
The SOHO TZW provides easy to use setup wizards for a variety of deployment scenarios. The appliance can be deployed as a combination firewall, VPN and gateway to provide both LAN and WLAN trusted zones. Additionally, Wireless Guest Services can be used to provide a guest zone for Internet connectivity for lobby, conference room, and hot-spot access, while reserving corporate LAN access for authenticated users only.
The SOHO TZW can also be deployed as a secure departmental access point, allowing workers to access an existing corporate LAN securely.
