  Objectives:

  The workshop is intended for decision makers in SMEs, government agencies, local authorities, educational establishments, service providers and various commercial organisations who are responsible for operating and managing data centres or server rooms, and who want to have a better understanding of the costs and economics of operating and running a centre, so as to reduce operational costs and carbon emissions. Only a basic IT knowledge is required.

  The workshop takes a practical approach to energy management, outlining the major cost issues in today’s centre and explaining the metrics and tools to use in order to reduce them. It will illustrate that introducing a green and sustainable energy policy in a centre is good from a social corporate responsibility and environmental perspective,  and equally it makes good economic and financial sense.

  The workshop will demonstrate Stratergia’s meterless, software-based data centre energy measurement and management system running live on UCDs, School of Computer Science & Informatics, server systems.
