High note: Why Asus went back to the drawing board
Computer maker Asus has teamed up with Danish style guru Bang & Olufsen in the design of its latest laptops, the N Series.
Two Intel Core i5 models are available, with 15.6″ and 17.3″ screens, and both promise “superior audio technology with eye-catching designs”, says Asus. Both use the NVIDIA GeForce 400M 3D chipset.
Asus says that, realising many people spend up to a third of their day using multimedia devices of some type, and that most laptops fall short high-quality audio, it went back to the drawing board, focusing on ways to develop natural sound that wasn’t compromised by the usual laptop constraints – hence the Asus SonicMaster.
The maker says the N Series incorporates large speaker chambers, more powerful amplifiers and extensive software processing to deliver “breathtaking audio fidelity”.
