Global consultancy group Accenture, which is headquartered in Ireland, has announced that it is to create 140 new jobs here.

Already employing around 1,400 in Ireland, the new positions will be for graduates and specialists in the areas of business systems, cloud computing and digital technologies and Java.

The expansion follows the creation of a business analytics division here two years ago, as demand among its clients for expertise in this area increased.

Accenture said that the jobs will come on stream within the next 12 months.
