As the Automobile Association in Ireland speeds towards it’s centenary, the organisation has shifted its website into a higher gear. The revamped site, which AA Ireland says is more user friendly, is among several measures to improve the motoring organisation’s e-commerce capabilities.

The site offers an intuitive, one-stop-shop for motoring accessories, ranging from AA motor insurance and membership to route planning and the Roadwatch travel and information services. The new site layout also simplifies the purchasing of AA’s home and travel insurance.

The AA Route Planner attracted over 1.6 million page views in June, while January’s cold snap drove 2.2 million to the Roadwatch service.

Commenting on the new website, Caroline Baldwin, the organisation’s marketing director, said: “AA Routeplanner and Roadwatch services have a fantastically loyal user-base and our insurance customers increasingly want the option to purchase online.”
