Sony Ericsson Akono Headset HBH-300

If you use a Bluetooth-equipped phone, your options while driving are either to have a handsfree setup installed in your car, or use a device such as Sony Ericsson’s Akono Headset.

This wireless device connects wirelessly to your mobile in your pocket; it will even work if it’s in a briefcase in the boot. With a 10-metre range, you could also consider it useful for making calls walking round a small office, unhindered by holding a phone to your ear.

More comfortable to use than a small wired earpiece, it also allows for freer head movement when driving. If you have features such as voice dialing and answering set up, you can use a headset like this one to make, take and reject calls. The Akono offers up to 10 hours talk time and up to 300 hours on standby.

A noise canceling function does a good job of separating your voice from surrounding noise such as traffic or a busy office. The unit comes with a mains charger and a desktop stand for storage when not in use. While primarily designed to operate with Sony Ericsson phones, it will work with any current Bluetooth-equipped model.
