IT consultancy firm Zinopy is trialling an app at Dublin City University this week that will allow students to find information on any aspect of their university life on any device.
Funded under the Innovation Partnership Programme, QuAS creates an intelligent search engine which maps questions to the correct answer, learning from previous answers to create an evolving database of questions and answers.
Ger Coakley, CFO, Zinopy, said: "QuAS is a very intuitive and useful tool for students, especially fresher students about to get settled into their first year at university, enabling them to find the information they need in those critical first few weeks on campus in an efficient, time-saving and easy manner, either using smart phones or by quickly accessing the information via the QuAS website."
The Innovation Partnership Programme is a funding scheme run by Enterprise Ireland to encourage collaboration between Irish-based companies and Irish universities. The scheme enables Zinopy to work closely with DCU, availing of the university’s extensive research expertise in next generation language technologies.
Paddy O’Boyle of Invent DCU said: "DCU’s collaboration with Zinopy to develop QuAS is an example of DCU’s commitment to engagement with industry, translating cutting edge research into tangible, societal benefit."
