Xpreso wins NDRC LiftOff competition
The winner of NDRC’s Lift Off competition – the culmination of the LaunchPad 8 accelerator programme – was announced yesterday. Top honour went to Xpreso, a company that manages deliveries for online purchases, who will receive €30,000 in follow-on investment.
Xpreso solves the ‘sorry we missed you’ problem by connecting couriers and consumers in real time, making sure there is always someone available to take a collection.
At Lift Off 8, 11 start-ups had five minutes to pitch to an audience of investors, mentors and a judging panel which included John Pryor (RocketSpace), Will Prendergast (Frontline Ventures), Conor Stanley (Tribal VC), and Ben Hurley (NDRC).
Each participating company in the three-month accelerator programme received up to €20,000 in pre-seed investment and mentorship with the option of a further development time at NDRC.
Speaking after the announcement of the winners, NDRC director Gary Leyden said: “NDRC LaunchPad continues to build on the successes of NDRC which has previous alumni going on to attract record levels of investment, creating jobs in the process. In fact, NDRC-backed ventures in total have generated over €30 million in follow-on investment with the creation of 300 jobs.
“Xpreso will join illustrious alumni such as PropertyGate, Newswhip and Soundwave, and I am certain that the entire team will continue their success as they take the next steps in the development of their business.”
