TomTom Business Solutions has launched an initiative to help software and hardware vendors enhance the value of their solutions through the use of fleet management data.
The .connect partner programme will provide technology suppliers with development support and resources to augment TomTom’s Webfleet platform.
TomTom’s open Link.connect API enables integration with third party hardware such as mobile printers, barcode scanning devices or temperature sensors. Using a standard interface, Webfleet.connect, allows data to be transferred to office applications and enables partners to make fully scalable solutions.
"TomTom’s .connect partner programme is the first of its kind in the industry, allowing customers to unlock greater potential from the connected vehicle through convergence with other business solutions," said Thomas Schmidt, TomTom Business Solutions’ managing director (pictured).
"By taking this strategic step, we aim to expand TomTom’s range of partner applications, providing businesses with powerful tools for optimising operational efficiency. It will also act as a springboard for partners to increase the market potential for their products."
