Small companies splash out on IT

At a presentation given at the Microsoft/Enterprise Ireland Small Business Solutions Seminar at the Four Seasons Hotel, Ballsbridge, Dublin on
Tuesday 28th October, the SFA’s assistant director, Patricia Callan revealed that 50 per cent of small businesses don’t have an IT budget, while 49 per cent believe that IT products and services are too expensive. The SFA highlighted hardware, software, training, Web development, maintenance, database development and networking as the main spending priorities for small firms in 2003.
