Both the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) and coffee manufacturer Campbell Bewley are connecting to the Internet via ‘congestion-free’ services provided by International network service provider PacketExchange and corporate communications services provider EuroKom.
‘The ESRI went looking for increased bandwidth in order to get much faster Internet and e-mail access. The EuroKom services and PacketExchange technology has certainly done this, June Ryan, ESRI IT systems administrator told ComputerScope.
EuroKom used PacketExchange Transit technology to deliver scaleable bandwidth services to ESRI and Campbell Bewley. Freedom from the high levels of congestion normally associated with the public Internet is guaranteed as a result of using private Internet connections, according to PacketExchange, which provides ‘behind the scenes’ technology to ISPs, search engines, content providers and companies. The company, which recently added Dublin to its list of international points of presence, built its reputation on converting raw telecommunications capacity into services that can be delivered to local customer through major local partners such as EuroKom.
PacketExchange’s Internet Protocol-based transit services are being delivered via ethernet over Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) data routing technology.
