3Com’s OfficeConnect Wireless 108Mbit/s 11g PoE Access Point enables Power over Ethernet wireless, telephony and data communications in a single box for small to medium enterprises. It combines a PoE-enabled wireless access point with a PoE web-configurable switch and small business IP telephony system.
It supports up to 64 users and the PoE support simplifies installation with each access point connecting to the Baseline Switch 2226-PWR for power and data. Security protocols supported include 802.1X, AES and WPA. Enterprise class features include 108Mbit/s SuperG, Wireless Distribution Systems (WDS) with WPA-PSK support over WDS links, multiple SSID support, 802.1Q VLAN support and rogue access point detection.
The 3Com Baseline Switch 2226-PWR Plus is designed to cut the cost of deploying IP telephony applications and small business wireless applications. It is a PoE Layer 2 switch which is suited for small-to-medium enterprise wiring closets that use LAN infrastructure for the deployment of network applications such as IP telephones, wireless LAN access points, network jacks, video surveillance, and remote video kiosks. It automatically detects and prioritises NBX IP telephony traffic to ensure high quality for voice applications. It is the latest addition to 3Com’s Baseline Plus Switch family of web-configurable 10/100 and Gigabit switches designed for small-and-medium businesses.
