Reflex ScreenMail is a high-security plug-in designed to work with Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express. It provides desktop content management for inbound and outbound e-mail with antivirus protection.
ScreenMail disables redundant HTML functions such as scripting and scans the message attachments for viruses. If one is found, access to the message attachments is disabled. In both Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express, ScreenMail removes active components from the message before it is displayed to a user. Signed and encrypted messages are also scanned. The software also sets the security settings to the most secure restricted zone and prevents this from being altered.
Newsgroups are also scanned and it removes potential dangerous HTML elements that exploit known vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer and Outlook Express.
These security features render ScreenMail invulnerable to most existing viruses and as yet unknown threats.
It also has the ability to locate and configure third party anti-virus products already installed so the software can be automatically called to scan attachments.
ScreenMail is bundled and shipped with an anti-virus scanner, Reflex Sherlock.
