Most people know Nokia for its mobile phones, but the company is trying to establish itself outside the handset market. The company has announced two new products designed to enhance your digital imaging experience — the Nokia Image Album and the Image Viewer SU-5.
The Image Album has a 20Gbyte hard disk that allows you to store digital images, video clips and messages; these can be viewed, shared, organised and edited on a TV screen using a remote control. Images can be filed in folders, renamed or have comments added to them.
There are plenty of options when it comes to transferring your images to the device — with compatible phones, users can take advantage of Bluetooth wireless technology or infrared, via USB from a digital camera or from memory cards.
Another option is to print the images using a compatible printer with Bluetooth technology. Users can, via USB, hook up a PC or external CD writer to the Image Album to send images by e-mail or make a copy of the content.
The Nokia Image Viewer SU-5 allows users to show and share images from their compatible phones on a TV screen or video projector at home or in the office. The device comes with its own remote control, and images are transferred from the phone to the device via a Pop-Port connector or from MultiMediaCard.
A retractable RCA cord connects the Image Viewer to the TV or video projector, with pictures available as single images or as a slideshow. Both products are expected to be available later this year.
