Microsoft has significantly increased the capacity of OneDrive Cloud storage included with its Office 365 subscriptions from 20Gb to 1Tb.

The change applies to its Personal ($9 per month), Home ($12 per month for up to five users), and University ($99 per four years) plans; each individual receives their own 1Tb.

The move follows an upgrade to OneDrive for Business customers who were bumped from 25Gb to 1Tb in April.

OneDrive for Business was introduced in March as the new name for SkyDrive Pro. Companies could access the service from 1 April through Office Online, and do not necessarily have to sign up for Office 365 of SharePoint Online

In addition to the Office 365 increases, Microsoft has boosted the amount of free storage included in its standalone OneDrive Cloud storage service from 7Gb to 15Gb.

It has also reduced the pricing of additional storage, which is now charged at $2 per month for 100Gb (down from $8.99) and $4 per month for 200Gb (down from $13.99).

Microsoft claims all OneDrive updates will take effect in the next month.
