Lenovo has won a contract to supply the workforce of building and civil engineering company PJ Hegarty & Sons with its PCs and laptops. Lenovo, through business partner Techniche, will equip more than 400 Hegarty &staff with its ThinkCentre PCs and ThinkPad laptops.
Hegarty & Sons chose Lenovo over the other key vendors due to the demonstrated reliability of its products combined with the added benefits of Lenovo’s ThinkVantage technologies.
A spokesman for Hegarty, Kieran Molloy, commented: “Reliability is a major requirement in our business. As most of the ThinkPad users will be site-based, we need to ensure that our IT infrastructure can cater for our employees’ working day.” He said Lenovo’s reputation for ruggedness of its machines was a crucial factor in giving the contract to that company.
“Delivery was another key factor for us in deciding which PC vendor to award the contract to, added Molloy.
Lenovo country manager Fiona O’Brien said: “Our ability to offer next day delivery of reliable machines through our business partner ensures business continuity while keeping IT support costs to a minimum.”
Hegarty has offices in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway. Services include management contracting, design/build and finance, alliance/partnering and turnkey contracts.
