IP Telecom sponsors Tech Excellence Awards
Mediateam, organiser of the Tech Excellence Awards, has announced that IP Telecom has come on board as title sponsor in a three-year deal.
The Awards, which return to the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire on 25 May, is set to be another sell-out with companies local and global competing in 23 categories including CIO of the year, company of the year and person of the year. Also making its return, the distributor of the year award will be decided by popular vote.
This year sees the addition of a new award, best place to work, reflecting the efforts companies have made to maintain work/life balance, provide opportunities for personal growth, and encourage a positive environment that balances personal growth with commercial performance.
“We are delighted to announce that IP Telecom will be lead sponsor of the Tech Excellence Awards. While the focus has been on the challenges facing the global tech sector, there is much to be excited about within Ireland as innovation remains strong,” said Shena Brien, CEO, IP Telecom. “It is vital to recognise significant technical advancements in the sector and to spotlight and celebrate its people and innovators. We are thrilled by the excitement that surrounds the Tech Excellence Awards and encourage all those in the IT industry to apply for this important recognition.”
Rory Whelan, head of marketing, IP Telecom, added: “In a year where attention has been focused on multinational tech firms headquartered here. The role of indigenous companies in fostering success has come to the fore. Being part of the thriving, innovative tech ecosystem in Ireland is about recognising and celebrating the people and achievements of the sector and we at IP Telecom are delighted to become a larger part of the Tech Excellence awards.”
Mediateam director of operations Billy Huggard said: “The Tech Excellence Awards recognises achievement in enterprise and the channel, from multinationals through to young people with big ideas. It has been a tough time for the sector as household names go through a painful right-sizing, however Ireland has insulated itself from the worst through the quality of our talent and commercial savvy. Our new best place to work category recognises companies that navigate these turbulent periods by engaging with and getting the best out of its staff. IP Telecom shares our passion and belief in Ireland’s technology sector and I am delighted to welcome it on board as our title sponsor.”
