The Irish Developers Network (IDN) has recently made a number of improvements to its site (www.irishdev.com) including an RSS feed for events and news. It will also launch an enhanced news archive and a dedicated developer jobs site featuring real-time job updates via RSS in September.
The jobs section is free of charge for both candidates and agencies. ‘Our revenue stream remains advertising and sponsorship,’ says Fergal Breen, IDN’s online manager. ‘We are constantly approached by agencies and expect our free service to agencies to draw a lot of data quickly. In addition to the anticipated data, we are forming alliances with several key recruitment agencies.’ The group is considering a number of other proposals at the moment, including a possible alliance with a large UK jobs portal.
