Hibernian has completed a EUR5m project to create an e-claims system that will form the basis for management of all the insurance company’s claims in the future.

The insurance company worked with VISION Consulting to build the Web-based system at a cost of EUR5m. It is hoped that the system, which took 11 months and a combined team of 60 to build and rollout, will provide Hibernian with increased efficiency through a real-time management information system, which provides greater cost control capabilities.

Hibernian was seeking a claims system that would drive the claims process from start to finish and automate many of the key jobs in the claims handling process.

The new system will allow the company to interface electronically with all its service providers; link with knowledge systems such as Colossus and Glassmatix; provide quality management information; provide improved workflow management and eliminate duplication in the claims process.

It will be used by everyone who works with the company in settling claims, including brokers, solicitors, loss adjusters, motor engineers, garages, repairers and medical professionals.

‘We were committed to using the best industry practices, the latest technology and the best program and technology partner for this system,’ said Kevin Garland, IT director, Hibernian. ‘Partnering with VISION provided us with all three.’
