Telecoms provider Eircom has announced it has secured the tender to provide broadband services to Croke Park stadium. The three year contract is valued at €1.4 million.

Eircom’s fixed and wireless network will underpin a unified communications system for voice and data services, digital signage, enterprise television, video streaming, and support of stadium building management in an integrated and connected real estate solution.

The Eircom telecommunications network will transform the experience for fans, corporate visitors and conference delegates to Croke Park. The stadium will benefit from an improved communications experience that supports future networked applications such as smartcard-based ticketing and access solutions, video-on-demand in corporate boxes and access to team and match information on smart phones. Location tracking of valuable assets and VIP’s within the stadium will also be possible as well as video advertising that changes based on location or time.
