There are quite a few apps relevant to epilepsy sufferers in the Android Market and App Store but this substantial entry from the UK Epilepsy Society goes a bit further than simple medication management and seizure logs.
The app contains essential first aid tips, including a step by step guide to the recovery position, basic information about epilepsy and a link to an interactive seizure diary.

As this is an app aimed at the English market, it won’t be entirely relevant to Irish users, but it still provides some valuable insight into the condition.

BBC News
For: Android

A mainstay of iOS devices since its introduction last July, the BBC news app is finally coming to Android. Optimised for devices running versions 1.6 and above (sorry Honeycomb users, your time is yet to come) users can access regular and video content across 3G and Wi-Fi.

You can also customise the app to bring forward only content you are interested in. So, if Sport and the Arts aren’t your thing, you can just enjoy Science and World Affairs stories etc.

Pages are scrolled through at a swipe and a breaking news ticker keeps you up to date with events as they happen.
