Advantage Ingres Enterprise Relational Database Release 2.6 is a relational database management system (RDBMS) which support for Web Services. 

Enhanced XML data exchange, and ODBC and JDBC connectivity for Advantage Ingres means the program supports both Web-enabled and Web-Services applications. It also simplifies global eBusiness deployments in multiple languages through support for Unicode.

Advantage Ingres 2.6 reduces costs by offering simplified management tools. These are part of the base product, and include enhanced transaction recovery and management and a Visual DBA console that can manage all Advantage Ingres databases across the enterprise.

Advantage Ingres 2.6 is currently available on the Windows, Linux (Intel and S390/zSeries), and Unix platforms. Additional platform support will follow.
