Win proves Gaeltacht companies can survive in global economy

Gaeltacht-based documentation solutions firm Bard na Gleann Teo has won the Sage CIT Business Makeover competition, proving that a Gaeltacht company can trade in the global economy, Sage said.

Bard na nGleann implemented Sage’s complete ICT solution in order to provide it with real-time cash flow information which would give it cash flow control.

Tom Fitzgerald, managing director and founder of Bard na nGleann Teo, said the company also wanted better in-house management, a payroll system that tied into the back-office accounting software solution and a contact management software system that would manage and control client contact data.

Bard na nGleann Teo provides documentation solutions for a global customer base from its headquarters in Ballingeary, in the Cork Gaeltacht, and has subsidiary offices in Silicon Valley, California and Kilcooley, County Kerry.

The competition was also sponsored by FDS Technology, which trained Bard na nGleann’s staff and implemented the entire Sage ICT.
