British-based IT distributor Bell Micro has launched a new website to raise awareness of the Red Hat brand in Ireland.

Bell Micro Ireland’s Red Hat sales manager, Paudie Gavin, said the website is designed to give customers valuable information about Red Hat products. He said the message to customers was “that we can assist them with their Red Hat marketing campaigns and support them with any initiatives they decide to run to promote Red Hat.”

Bell Micro runs a dedicated service in Ireland to offer resellers free marketing consultations and co-branded design pieces.

The new website offers a downloadable ‘cheat sheet’ for each product and a ‘how to’ desk guide, among other aids.

Besides product information, Gavin wants customers to benefit from the Mailout2 service, which allows customers to customise and broadcast free professional looking co-branded e-mail campaigns, helping to generate sales opportunities and target new markets. Gavin says the website offers customers “a free service that would cost hundreds of euro if they were to go to an agency for. It’s a real value-add.”

Resellers in Britain have had marked success with this service, and Bell Micro hopes to replicate this with Irish resellers.
