Viatel Technology Group has acquired Scottish cyber security consultancy FullProxy in a move that expands its presence in the UK market and deepens its capabilities in cyber resilience. The transaction broadens the reach of the Irish-headquartered group into Scotland and the wider UK enterprise and public sector market amid rising demand for specialist cyber expertise from highly regulated organisations.

The acquisition further strengthens Viatel’s core cyber security capabilities at a time when organisations are under growing pressure to secure complex digital infrastructure while preparing for wider AI deployment. By bringing FullProxy’s specialist team into the group, Viatel is enhancing its ability to support enterprise and public sector customers facing heightened security, compliance and operational resilience demands. FullProxy was recently named among TechUK’s Top 200 Growing Companies and shortlisted as Scottish Cyber Security Company of the Year 2025.

Backed by investment from Macquarie Capital, the deal follows Viatel’s acquisition of Belfast-based Cybit Cyber last year, and marks the next phase of growth for the group as an integrated technology partner with strengths across connectivity, digital services and security. By bringing these capabilities together, Viatel is better placed to deliver consultancy and managed services that are closely aligned to customer priorities, from strengthening resilience today to giving organisations confidence in adopting AI securely for the future. This strategic acquisition reinforces cybersecurity as a cornerstone of the group’s long-term value growth strategy.
