The Irish cyber security market is expected to reach $600 million in revenues in 2024, with a combination of investment from large multi-national technology vendors and the growth of Irish specialists helping drive this success.

“We’ve been delighted to be active in the country for many years, but it’s important to ensure we can expand our business with a local presence to help support our partners in person,” said Mukesh Gupta, e92plus CEO. “John brings extensive experience in the channel, and will help leverage our extensive services and expertise to help our partners grow their cyber security business. It’s one of the fastest growing sectors, with the introduction of new legislation and compliance standards in 2024 like DORA and NIS2, there’s huge opportunity”.

Speaking about the opportunity for VARs and MSPs in Ireland, John Rustage highlighted that “Ireland is becoming increasingly recognised for the depth of cybersecurity expertise, highlighted by the strong presence of so many leading cybersecurity companies. E92plus has enjoyed strong growth in the last few years, and with more channel businesses identifying cybersecurity as a growth area, we can see huge value in our services and experience in being able to help them bridge the skills gap, and provide the support and guidance to help them build out their offering – whether it’s a full managed service, consultancy or simply expanding their technology portfolio”.

2024 has already seen e92plus partner with Smarttech247, appearing as the Platinum sponsor at the popular Zero Day Con event in Dublin in March. Michele Groenewald, Partner Manager at Smarttech247, highlighted that “Smarttech247 are very excited to work with e92plus in the Ireland region. We have had great dealings with their UK team for many years and look forward to collaborating with the new Ireland Team to grow our business jointly. E92plushave always demonstrated a deep understanding of our company’s goals and objectives, they have assisted us in forging new vendor relationships with the ever-changing landscape in cybersecurity. Working with e92plus has not only expanded our network of partnerships but has also elevated our brand in the market”.

One of the e92plus’ key partnerships is with Trend Micro, who have a strong presence in Ireland through their European HQ and Centre of Excellence in Cork that recently celebrated it’s 20th anniversary. Gary O’Connell, European sales director at Trend Micro, commented that “it is great to see e92plus increase their focus in the Irish market. The people at e92plus really focus on the personal relationship between distributor and vendor, they are always dependable and consistently bring that much desired, and often rare, added value”.
