Unipalm signs deal with Symantec

Unipalm has been selected as a value added distributor of Symantec’s endpoint security solutions in Ireland and the UK.

Under the deal, Unipalm will distribute Symantec’s Sygate and WholeSecurity technologies. Symantec’s Sygate Enterprise Protection promises to allow businesses to automate security practices and ensure security policy compliance for managed and unmanaged devices across the organisation.

Meanwhile, Symantec’s WholeSecurity behaviour-based intrusion prevention technology analyses the characteristics and actions of viruses, worms and other malicious code and offers real-time protection against these threats without the need for traditional security signatures.

David Ellis, director of e-security at Unipalm said that with the big rise in mobile users and devices connecting to the corporate network, securing the endpoint has become critical for organisations.
