Toshiba’s e740 PDA is a Pocket PC type handheld with built-in Wi-Fi (802.11b) or Bluetooth wireless capabilities. The e740 includes built-in Secure Digital (SD) and CompactFlash II (CF-II) expansion slots for adding additional memory or communications capabilities such as GPS.
The Toshiba e740 gives mobile workers the ability to check e-mail, view files from the company network and surf the Web. It is built around the new Intel PXA250 Application Processor with Xscale Microarchitecture at 400MHz. It has 64Mbyte of RAM, 32Mbyte of Flash ROM and a 64-thousand-colour screen for clean images.
Through the optional expansion pack with full host and client support for USB and VGA output, users can connect to a projector for presentations while meeting with customers, to a keyboard while in the office or to an external monitor for easy viewing. Also optional is a high-capacity Lithium-Ion battery pack allowing up to 25 hr for working on multimedia applications or listening to your favourite MP3 files while on a long flight. The Toshiba e740 is just 16mm thick and weighs 185g.
