Other winners included ePub Direct for Emerging Cork Company (less than five years in business); logistics company the O’Connell Group received the award for Cork SME Company (less than 100 employees).

Accepting the Cork Company of the Year Award on behalf of SouthWestern Chief executive Jim Costello said: "We’re a very proud Cork company and winning such a prestigious award is an endorsement of the customer-focused and innovative way we do business. In these times, it is more important than ever to promote a winning mentality and Cork Chamber, and sponsors Vodafone, deserve great praise for helping to foster that in this region"

Gareth Cuddy, MD, ePub Direct, said: "I am thrilled to accept this award for Emerging Company of the Year. It’s great recognition for both the company and our team and tops off everything we’ve achieved in the last 18 months… Although our customers are worldwide, being based in Cork allows us access to an extremely talented workforce along with great support from organisations such as the Cork Chamber."
